Community Partners

Barrier-Free Recreation is dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate, connect, and thrive through adaptive sports and recreation. Our Dance & Movement program brings that mission to the arts, creating a welcoming space for individuals with disabilities ages 4–30 to explore movement, creativity, music, and self-expression.

In partnership with Ohana School for Performing Arts, participants practice once a week throughout the year, building confidence, skills, friendships, and a sense of community. Throughout the year, dancers also have the opportunity to participate in 3–4 performances, giving them the chance to share their creativity and hard work with family, friends, and the community.

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to dance, express themselves, perform, and experience the joy of being part of a team—regardless of ability or experience.
